Personal Note From Vanessa
At this point, the National Park Compositions project includes commissioning new works written for solo violin, violin and piano, violin and harp and violin and marimba—then creating a professional audio recording and filming a cinematic music video for each piece in its corresponding National Park.
I love working with the composers as the pieces are being written and I’m committed to promoting their works and introducing their pieces into the classical violin recital repertoire. 100% of the proceeds from sheet music and audio downloads go directly to the composer...my way of supporting however I can.
My hope is that, over time, violinists will perform them in University concert halls across the country for Junior, Senior, Graduate, and Faculty Recitals and that these National Park pieces will create a deep, human connection with audiences in live recitals, carrying the spirit of the Parks far beyond the screen.
